About UltraComputing Partner Applications

Welcome to the world of performance without compromise -- the world of UltraComputing. This disc, one of a series of demo discs that make up the UltraPack, gives you a collection of software from a specially selected group of independently owned software partners.

UltraComputing workstations from Sun combine the all-new UltraSPARC processors with VIS instruction set, Creator and Creator 3d graphics acceleration, a crossbar-switched bus architecture and high-bandwidth 100Mb FastEthernet into a single, compact power desktop. An UltraComputing tool that unleashes your power to create.

A description of each of the partner applications on this CD can be found by clicking on the product name to the left. You can run these applications right from the HotJava browser by following the link to the produce page, where you can launch the application.

This demo disc uses the HotJava(tm) Browser 1.0 preBeta1 browser as the basis for the user interface. The entire demo environment has been crafted as a locally browsable web - not requiring your workstation to be connected to a network. However, to get the full features of HotJava, you will want to be connected to a network which will give you access to the Internet. Since it is impossible to know in advance what the details of your network are, you will need to set these specifics in the "Edit --> Preferences --> Proxies" menu of the HotJava browser.

While these are strictly demo applications, every attempt has been made to preserve all or as much of a given application's functionality. Each application has been tested individually prior to release by each of our partners, but not necessarily with all the other UltraPack applications concurrently. Should you believe that an application is malfunctioning, it is always best to contact the vendor directly and obtain a full version of the product for evaluation.

The HotJava browser provided on this CD is pre-beta and may exhibit some inconsistent behavior when used with some applets.
